Should I see Slumdog Milionaire or The Reader?

General concensus on t'net says that Slumdog is pretty amazing overall and The Reader is alright but a bit naff and up itself. (I'm just the messenger; haven't seen either myself.)

    The Happening:Whats it all about?

For anyone who has seen the film, ask yourself this question... What's making the wind blow? Mark Kermode asked that question and in my opinion it makes the film even more stupid plot wise. Plants release toxins when they feel threatened that make humans commit suicide, ok, pretty stupid but...

    The Cheap Dvds Thread.

www.dvdplanet.com is a good source, it's an american company so the exchange rates mean that they are cheaper than the UK. They also have a wider range of stuff because everything in America is released on DVD even if it's not particularly successful at the box office

    District 9 Wow!

I hope they don't do a sequel. It is best as a standalone film. 2009 was a good year for intelligent sci fi what with District 9 and Moon. I hope the director on District 9(Neill Blomkamp) goes on to do more films.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: will be two films

I'm not sure about this decision at all. To think that so much was cut from Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix - which to me had far more storylines than Deathly Hallows - when in the final book there is a big chunk of the book that is non-eventful i.e. the trio stuck in the wooRAB etc for...

    Troy - Dont do it

I went to see Troy expecting it to look fab, and be somewhat lacking in the script department. With such low expectations, I thoroughly enjoyed it, even though it is complete and utter tosh. And watching Eric Bana was well worth the price of the ticket, imo.

    Empire Magazine

Ah I see, I only just started reading the magazine about six months ago, so wouldn't be able to compare it to what it used to be like, but it goes way more deeper into films than Total Film/Empire, so that makes me happy. I still get Total Film and Empire but lately I have been thinking of...
