Enter the Haggis - Gutter Anthems (March, 2009)

Mmm I really like this band. Just recently got into them though but I have to say I wish I had gotten into them earlier. Next to The Real McKenzies they're probably my favourite (and only) Canadian Celtic band.

    Weekly Music Trading Post

Damn, forgot all about this thread! Sorry folks, but this week's been a busier one than usual, so you'll have to bear with me for a few days. I'll get my review done when I can too. Anyone who wants in on the next (unthemed) trade, let me know and I'll start taking names down. Should get...

Bands with Better Lyrics than Bob Dylan?

I'm going to assume the banRAB you have heard of on that list are Radiohead and Oasis, considering that they're both ridiculously famous, but seriously, you've never heard of Pulp, or The Smiths? Wow. As for whether he's right, no, probably not, not for all of them anyway, by a long shot. I...

I Prefer Musicians Who Are Drug Addicts

Yeah, I really dig some of the effects they were getting into with the vocals. And songs like "Zero Chance", "Tighter and Tighter", "Applebite" and "Boot Camp" are some of their best ever, and yet, if you weren't familiar with the album, you probably wouldn't have even heard them.

Band Polls: Round 4: Poll B

Elliott and Sabbath win. I'm thinking about taking the losers from the poll, putting them on a poll together and having the winner go to the final round, so its five and we can have like a top five rab banRAB thing and ordering them by the amount of votes they get. What does everyone think?

Damnit. That would have been perfect. For example anytime I head anyone slight progressive/psychedelic there similar artists seem to include Rush, Zeppelin, Floyd, and all the other obvious choices.

NeutralHead Collective - In The Merryweather Rainbow over the Spectacular (2009)

It saddens me that Neutral Milk Hotel and In The Aeroplane Over The Sea will now always be associated with Pitchfork and hipsterdom. To many times have I been called a hipster for saying it's my favorite my favorite album of all time. I was freaking twelve when I first heard it, I didn't even...
