Fortunate Son - CCR and War Pigs - Black Sabbath would work as examples of anti-war songs from the Vietnam era. For social, many songs by N.W.A, Public Enemy, Grandmaster Flash, and other 80's rap groups would work as examples of protest to violence and discrimination against African Americans...

S.C.I.E.N.C.E. by Incubus. I was quite young when I first listened and my brain almost melted. I still love the album to pieces but there's no surprises anymore.
