Great band. A Sceptic's Universe is fantastic.
and I made a Cynic thread. But people are too busy fighting over if Disturbed is better than GoRABmack to discuss good music.
I've always hated them. I tend to not be an elitist about music in general but something about mixing metal with a more mainstream sounRAB wrecks the metal elements for me while not adding enough to the mainstream sound to make it more appealing. The music just comes out sounding confused, and bad.
I think you confused Metallica with Nirvana. Nirvana were the ones to mix metal with punk (i.e. grunge) that was what grunge was, a mixture of punk and metal. Metallica was always metal-esque and if memory serves me right.
You know, I've been thinking this for a while but seriously, bigdeath WTF is wrong with you?
(I'm being sarcastic, just letting you know. Get out of my gutter, my head was in there first.)
i'm gonna throw in
Edguy & Lost Horizon
along with the rest of the power metal mentioned, ie. Hammerfall, Iced Earth, Blind Guardian, Helloween, Iron Maiden.. etc etc..
i honestly don't understand how they could've been missed out!!
well sure if we were in the 70 and they were queen but nah sorry dude we are in the year 2004 and they are just trying to be queen so dude if u like ythe oldies go with the originals!!!
well good thing he was there to explain it to you. I thought I could listen to and enjoy noise-rock without namedropping until he gave me the same lecture.
I'd like to see Neil Peart, Mike Portnoy and Phil Collins. They are all incredible drummers in prog banRAB and all three also wrote a lot of their band's songs (not sure about Phil Collins, but he did sing).
Banter - Good humored, playful converstaion.
Why are half the things people say on this site used to discriminate against others based on their musical tastes? I'm not going to say I'm not guilty of it, but not to the extent that alot of others are.
Harry Nilsson (everybodys talking), John Denver. LIGHT country, melodic stuff. It doesn't necessarily have to be country, it can be folk as well. Genres don't matter. I like acoustic, guitars, lap steel, and sweet voices. All this stuff was before my time by a mile, so I have some catching up to...
