I've heard of these 'seven plots/ideas' and it' probably true. There's only so many different ways you can make (mainstream) films based on a limited number of human emotions/feelings, which is where the 'seven' come in toit, I believe.

Definitely watch it! I am a massive film fan with a huge, huge collection of many genres. Pan's Labyrinth was beautiful, stunning, excellent story, sometimes very scary...I could go on. I would say you're truly missing out if you miss this one :)
