It's definately either Vulgar Display of Power or Cowboys From Hell as their best album. It's really hard to say, both great albums.

Wow, your dad has cool taste. SY - Daydream Nation is essential and Do Dallas by Mclusky is incredible as well. In a sense, not really. They were still very dancey songs in the same way, they just were more guitar orientated rather than synth. BanRAB have made bigger departures in the past.
