    Acid Regurgitation and Fundoplication Surgery

I had the same surgery and only had relief for 2 months. I wish I hadn't bothered going through all those awful tests and the surgery. I've been taking Prilosec OTC and thankfully it usually works for me.

    Surgery options for GERD

I had a Nissen several years ago and only had relief for 2 months. It was so disappointing to have the heartburn return. As someone else said though, some people have successful GERD surgery. Good luck to those who have it.

    PPI's 3 times per day???

MountainReader: I'm sorry your Nissen failed. I only had relief for 2 months after mine. Knock on wood, Prilosec OTC twice daily works pretty well for me now. I haven't heard of anyone taking a PPI three times a day, but maybe some Drs. precribe them when twice a day isn't enough. I used to...

You might have a stricture. If you do, the GI Doc can dialate your esophagus which will make swallowing food and liquid painless.

    Fundoplication/nissen amazing

It's good to hear that some people do well after the Nissen. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them. My surgery failed after 2 months and the surgeon went around telling everyone that I didn't have reflux anymore; that it was bronchitis. I've never had bronchitis in my life. I decided against...

Do you take ginger in capsule form? I like the candied ginger. It definitely helps my nausea too. It works faster for me than the capsules. Some people drink ginger juice. Have you tried that? I've been taking Prilosec OTC twice a day and it works pretty well for now.
