...would shock you the most? Rip Van Winkle napped through the American Revolution, but quite frankly, I don't think life changed *that* much back then in 20 years.
Personally, I'd be most stunned by the proliferation of computers and Internet technology.
Though life without cordless phones IS...
...take half your money and leave? Seriously! Afghan wives in unhappy marriages, where they often face abuse and have NO freedom, burn themselves to death:

were going to win the Cold War? Since the US lost the Vietnam War and Communism was spreading around the globe, people were cynical of politics after Watergate, and the US economy was in a rut, did people think way back then that the Soviets were going to be the world's big hegemon?
I know that...
worked hard his life for? So my dad's this insurance company manager and a real estate agent, and he owns (for lease) about 8 houses. So he's financially quite well-off.
And yesterday, he was positively stoked because he bought these two homes yesterday, but he's not really happy that I don't...

It was all over the news.

For instance, I'd tend to avoid women who are MDs or have Doctorates. Women like that usually put on airs because of their education and think that you're supposed to grovel at their feet because they have an "advanced degree".
Plus, it's just unromantic when they're out at work ALL the time...

why didn't any of them want to start a new life in a different land?
...at the same time? Or if you're a free spirit, will you always think of that human love as just an impermanent being that you ran across by chance, must enjoy for as long as you like, and then move on?
In other words, does loving another human being always entailing giving up some of your...
