Email sent to CTV/CRTC concerning that pathetic CTV logo with simsubs on BEV

Bravo! I await your response! :) I love their reasoning for the logos: "While some viewers who subscribe to digital cable or satellite have an on screen viewing guide, the majority of viewers have no on screen reference point for the channel they are watching." Ok, maybe I'm stupid (or super...

ExpressVu 9242 HD PVR Discussion thread for Owners Only!

Not that I did it , but you can swap the drive from your 9200 into your 9242 to watch your old recordings, as well as maintain the timers. You do sacrifice some drive space though (9242 = 320GB. 9200 = 250 GB)

Email sent to CTV/CRTC concerning that pathetic CTV logo with simsubs on BEV

I agree with you. What's even more annoying is Global. You get their logo in the top right hand corner, and the network in the bottom right. I find the top right really distracting. What I don't understand is this need to brand their stinking logos on any channels (US networks as well)...

    Billing Errors Continue

My Post-Christmas gift from BEV: They desubbed my receivers! I give them a call, after 3 minutes on hold, I reach a CSR. She explains the reason is I'm 75 days overdue on my account (They charged me $210 on install charges that weren't done, and as of Dec 5th, it was SUPPOSED to be taken care...

    Billing Errors Continue

ExpressVu for me too. They did reply back to me saying 4-6 weeks was unacceptable for a credit on my account (it's been almost 90 days so far!) Their response was that's handled by their billing department, and they have no control over the process time. What a load of crap......

    Location ID

Whatever you do, don't tell them that it's at your cabin. When Bell first started, you could have a remote unit. Not anymore. I had one at my cabin, and told them that. They gave me 2 options: 1) They could deactivate it. 2) I could buy a minimum programming for my cabin ($40ish). I chose...

ExpressVu 9242 HD PVR Discussion thread for Owners Only!

Your post makes the assumption that BEV has software engineers that write the firmware for their receivers (I have no idea if they do). If I was to guess, Echostar (I think they make the 92xx series?) writes all the firmware, and they concentrate on fixes for Dish network (due to volume alone)...

How do you program a Motorola Radio?

Many Motorola radios required a radio interface box (RIB) to be programmed. You probably also need the exact program. If you can't read the programming in the radio with the program you have you won't be able to program with it. The dxportal site below has GP340 software. The USB to serial...

Should I run 1080i or 720p? Using Motorola DCT6416III running (HDMI) through Onkyo

1080 is a higher resolution than 720. If you have a choice, select that. But using 1080 with a 720 source won't increase the quality. Most TV's will automatically select the right resolution for the program. If there is an auto or program select that's the one you should use.

Are you sick of the rip off that is extended warrantee every time you want to...

They try to sell it to you because it works with so many people and it's a lot of extra profit for them. Even if something breaks and you bought the extended warranty a lot of people would simply forget or not be able to find the paper work and the store still wouldn't have to fix or replace...

    Refurbihed Electronics in flee market.?

There's probably not much you can do from a practical standpoint. They probably have some fine print that says all sales are final. I've been to these types of markets and have never purchased anything from them. I've never liked the looks of the merchandise. It just looks cheap.
