I have a 2002 ford taurus ses ohv. the heater turned on when the engine is warmed up will give out some heat. but not enough to stay warm even when it is cranked up. my friend says if it was the heater core then i wouldnt get any heat at all. any ideas?

i just changed the head gaskets. it did over heat really bad before i changed the head gaskets. it doesn't smoke anymore. i just removed the thermostat and it still tries to over heat. any ideas? im lost
