The Bad Lieutenant - with Nicholas Cage

Yes it is. I saw the original version with Harvey Keitel some time ago, but this one is completely different. I don't want to say too much, only that I highly recommend it and Nicholas Cage is brilliant.

The Golden Compass: 3/5 OK fantasy, I liked the part in the cold North with the polar bears. Dakota Blue RicharRAB improved as the film went on. Though at the start she's really not very good, and even has a different accent to the rest of the film, so I guess thats not saying much. The anti...

    Biggest Disappointment.

Moulin Rouge - what was so great about that? A musical with no original songs! Billy Elliot - really didn't get what all the fuss was about. Captain Correlli's Mandolin - did the producers read the same book I did?

Nowhere Boy - The story of John Lennon

There's tons of Beatle-story films out there and none are very good so I won't hold my breath. Backbeat is about the best I've seen, if they follow their lead it'll be great.

Ever discovered a song from a movie that made you go WOW?

Not sure what it's called, but I'll call it 'theme from Lord of the Rings'. That's a lovely song, that. Also, a song I was trying to find the name of for years.....I then shazam'ed it whilst watching Superbad.......it should have been obvious really as it was called "I'm your boogie man". A...

    Demonoid blocks Germany

GeoBytes says they're hosted in Ukraine. :ermm: Although it's also saying my real IP is from the US. No idea of why they're blocking Germany, but you can still access it through a proxy, they won't care.

Films that you didn't think you'd like & you actually enjoyed it

I think they were trying to reclaim the Amelie fans that fell in love with the movie rather than trust that they would automatically watch it because of Juenet.

    CGI has ruined movies-discuss...

Sin City, as a pastiche of 1920s film noir, is about as far from sci-fi as it gets. I'm a huge Star Wars fan, but I have to say I think that CGI was the death of the franchise. GL got too caught up in the technology at the expense of the narrative.
