How much money does an average book make that the author gets?

If you manage to sell it to a publisher (at this point, with your book unwritten, your chance is about 1 in 100,000) you will make a couple of thousand dollars. If you self-publish you will almost certainly make a loss. If you want to give others hope, to be honest I suggest you join a support...

Can you read a book off the internet and i want the whole book?

You can read any books which are outside copyright - basically this means older classics. Try Project Gutenberg. http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page You can't read modern copyrighted novels for free online unless the author or publisher have specifically made them available - any you find...

Why do people only expect black authors to write about black people?

I have absolutely no idea what skin colour most of the authors are whose books I read. I really don't care, either. I agree with you that it's insulting to think that fiction written by black people is somehow different from fiction writen by white people. One of my daughter's favourite books...

Teen parents who've got a degree education?

Uh, almost no teens have a degree, whether they are parents or not. That would involve having finished university by 19.

I have a 20 month old daughter and have just bought a bike. should i get a...

It's entirely up to you. I had a seat on the back of the bike for my daughter from about age six months, and my daughter loved it. (And you are getting a helmet for both her AND yourself, I hope.) What do you mean "off road cycling of course"? Most people who cycle with kids do so on the roads...

Teens at Books& Authors? Do You Ever Feel Stereotyped Because You're A Teen?

Well, if your description of yourself is "hi, I'm a teen", what do you expect? You don't see adult posters going round saying "hi, I'm aged 30-39", do you? The only book I've ever read which made me feel like that was Barbara Hambly's Dark Tower series. I'm not a teen now, but I was at the time :)

How hard is it to get a book published as an unestablished author?

You need to look up which companies will even look at unsolicited manuscripts, or all you are doing is keeping the post office in business. Most publishers won't deal direct with authors at all. Your best bet is to try to get an agent.

A place to publish novels online. Considering Fictionpress.com or Deviant Art?

There's almost no chance of selling a novel which you have published on any free archive site. You basically have to choose. Are you trying to make this a pro novel? If so, you cannot share it for free. Or did you write it for fun and know full well it will never be pro standard? If so, you can...

I'm not very sure, but should i write a book?

You want to write a book? Then write one. It won't be any good, it is not going to make you rich or famous, and it stands zero chance of being published unless you are prepared to spend months, possibly years rewriting it. None of which will matter to you if the important thing to you is...

What books might interest a 10 year old boy?

How about the Alex Rider series? It's about a teenage spy. My 9 year old son loves it.

Do you think that when kids are whining that copying them?

I don't know about "funny", but I find it generally stops it instantly. They really don't like the idea that that's how they sound.

    How much do authors make?

3600 words? That's barely a short story. The average earnings for a published author in the UK are one quarter of the national average wage - i.e. the vast majority of authors who get paid at all don't get paid enough to live on. You need an editor first - or do what almost everyone does and...

are there any website where authors can submit thier work/short stories to be

Lots. However, all of them depend for their survival on people being prepared to do the reading and reviewing. You are most unlikely to get a good response unless you are also prepared to consider yourself as a reader and a reviewer, not just a writer.

How do you become an author?

This is like asking how you swim the qualifying time for the Olympics. You learn to swim. Then you do a shedload of practice until you are good at it. Until you've done that, there is absolutely no point worrying about the best place to buy a racing suit and how to fill the application forms in...
