the only thing I could think of is bad torque on the head.. or when the engine heats up the head expands at a different rate then the block, causing a small leak. or it could be heating up and expanding juuuust enough to make a tiny fracture or gap in the gasket to leak.

its most likely not the "cables" its most likely the syncros in the transmission wearing down and wont grab
