Defiantley The Golden Age of Radio, I see what you're saying though, his newer albums(Animal Years, Historical Conquest of) are a lot harder to get into. His only album I really didn't like was Hello Starling, but I haven't heard his self-titled.
If you think there is no right or wrong answer, then why did you even bother to convince people that the US are better?
As a american, im simply thinking outside of the box, and i can admit that my country isnt superior to every other nation in every possible way.
Closing Time is one of the better debut albums I've heard. It is stylistically different from his later albums, including those just three or four years later. But I wouldn't consider it a poor album; he exposes an emotional side which he never fully returned to in later years.
