stanley kubrick (although he's dead i'm afraid!). he's a good place to start. he never had any intervention from the studio asking him to change stuff in his films, warner brothers pretty much let him do what he wanted cos they knew he was a genius.

For me... Bartlett, played by Attenborough, being "delivered" to the camp commandant Von Luger by the Gestapo! Von Luger has an obvious contempt for the Gestapo and sympathy for Bartlett. Great few minutes of the film.

Well i'm apart of the prequel generation, but all in all i much prefer the originals. They have something that the others don't. I also find them a hell of alot more realistic and viable.

I quite enjoyed this.
