Toon Zone Talkback - Those Dollar DVDs; Or, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap

I would like to point out BTW (no April Fooling), that Dot and the Whale is part of a series of Austrailian movies that were see on American TV "many moons ago" that began with Dot and the Kangaroo. I don't know if you've heard of Yoram Gross films, but the movies came from them, and believe you...

Futurama - "The Futurama Holiday Spectactcular" - Talkback [11/21]

Missed the first run due to The Walking Dead... and I have to say I made the right call so far if that first segment is any indication.

RUMOR: Slurm Coming to a Convenience Store Near You.

You're going to be so upset once you find out its just surge with a new label (that said, if that was the case i'd be for it as i loved surge).

Shows That Have Eps Without Main Character/s Appearing.

For Zim, not only Game Slave 2, but also Gaz: Taster of Pork. Battle-Dib could also count since Zim and Gir don't appear in it. The Pok?mon episode "Meowth Rules" had an entirely Team Rocket-related plot. Ash and the others appeared briefly but they don't do anything.

Who will win CN or XD

As said before, the premise of JTS was originally going to be much darker than what we got. I blame Disney for trying to make the show fit their "family-friendly" ideals. CN probably would have let them get away with much more than what we got here.

Final red band trailer for Beowulf

It's Zemeckis doing what he did with Monster House and Polar Express. That shot of Beowulf up close at the beginning...very well done, I admit.

Cartoons where the bad guys have no reasonable motives versus ones where they do

Ali from Gundam 00's a recent example of a villain who's evil basically for the sake of evil.

Nickelodeon Acquires "Winx Club"; Will Co-Produce Seasons 5 and 6

I'm still disappointed that they're going that route just because I thought that would be the best choice. Granted, Nick doesn't need to save money by using the Rai English, but it would be easier than hiring actors here to do the roles. I don't even mind if they keep the same terms that 4Kids...

Jerk characters who we like anyway

I agree with you on that one. Rabbit is my favorite character on “Skunk Fu!” and I believe that his personality flaws are what makes him such an appealing character. I’ve only seen a handful of episodes so far, but I have really enjoyed the way that the creators have handled his character. I...

    Is Family Guy sexist?

Well, we must bear in mind that Family Guy was created by a guy and it's writing staff is mostly guys, so if the show ends up having a male outlook by default, it hardly comes as surprise. Also, it's not as if FG is the only show to be mostly a "boys' club". South Park? The Simpsons? Anyone...

First to RECIEVE a T5 - Post Here

I went to read the first 20 posts there...and to be fair most, if not all of them, are obviously coming from people that are not actually USING the device. They all point to the feature shortcomings we know just by reading the specs... But concerning real performance nobody is talking about...

    Good looking cartoons

What good-looking shows are you talking about? Name names and maybe post some pics. http://www.harley.com/art/abstract-art/images/%28vangogh%29-irises.jpg The lines aren't perfectly crisp, and several objects don't even have defining lines. That Van Gogh was one lazy artist, wasn't he?;)...

How come so many people are hard on today's cartoons?

I'd agree with those who said that nostalgia has something to do with it, that and people who pre judge without giving today's cartoons a chance are usually a big part of the "Today's cartoons suck!" crowd. I loved the late 80's and early 90's when it came to cartoons, but I love a lot of what...

    Bonus.... and insurance cheque

My wife wanted me to sign up for an insurance policy that would cover home care, travel expenses for medical procedures etc. It didn't appeal to me but i finally relented, getting signed on before I turned 60 so I didn't have to do the medical and while I still had no pre-existing conditions. I...

Cartoons of today: will they ever be classics? (2008 edition)

Like I said in a previous post, it's a lot more impressive considering that the show hasn't aired since November 2007. I mean unless you had the DVDs or recorded the episode, the previous 11 episodes wouldn't be fresh in the minds of the target audience.

    C & C The Simpsons " The 90's Show " ( 1/27/08)

The only good thing from this episode, I know that this 90s flashback is due to the sliding time scale, but, for an show that was on for the entirely the decade of the flashback episode and actually does it, what were the writers thinking?

IN FUN: I'm so sick and tired of breakfast!

"Andy" wrote in message news:[email protected]... My favorite meal ever was at Pio Pio's in Lynnwood. Sadly they are no longer there. It was a whole pinto bean burrito with beans and rice on the side. Yeah, I know I could make it at home and I do that sometimes. But...

If you could meet a cartoon voice in person

If you could meet a cartoon voice actor and/or cartoon voice actress in person somewhere in the USA or Canada, who would you choose? For me, I would like to meet the 2 female voices from the Arthur cartoon series: 1)Jessica Kardos (the voice of Sue Ellen and Marie-Helene on Arthur). and 2)...
