I think it's normal, on my E66, the screen is the same, it looks like it's off, but if you shine a light to it, you can read everything on the home screen.

People who buy S60 phones just don't install software. Most S60 phones are used as dumbphones.

Agreed. And does that even take into account the extra 10MB of so that would be taken up by Nokia Messaging and Mail for Exchange? If I can't run these programs as well as the normal phone operations then this is a no go for me. Hopefully they have a decent large screened E-series coming soon.
That could actually be very funny.
I mean they had 22 films of Bond to parodize. That's a pretty endless stream of villains. And the psychadelic style would really be suited to animation.
