From your opening remark, I can see that you are not as informed as you may think you are. The Bible does not say we are not to judge. Only that the standard we judge by is the same we will be judged by If we are not to judge, the n how would we know who is telling the truth and who is not...

It's pretty simple to replace one. But first make sure it's broken and not just out of adjustment. Have your husband take the knee bolster off from under the column and then access to remove the steering column cover screws can be removed. Then you should be able to see the shift linkage. If it...
That's a bit extreme. Especially for shocks. And if those prices include the labor, make sure the alignment is included.
You must have the older Dakota because the 2nd gen. the ball joints aren't serviceable.
Sounds like a short in the wiring. Take out all the bulbs and turn on the left signal. See if it flashes faster or blows the fuse. Do the same for the right. If the fuse doesn't blow in either situation, it's a socket for a bulb.
If it does blow the fuse, you will need to do a continuity test...
Check the ball joint to make sure it's not broken. The strut may be bent now too. It will be easier to take it all back apart and put the axle back in the trans.
It has the leafs, but not the badge. Those hubcaps will fit any steel wheel that is the same size. If you want a Cadillac center cap, you'll have to get it from Cadillac as the badge is a trade mark that an aftermarket company cannot reproduce.

As long as the frame and core support aren't damaged, you could buy the parts yourself and install them. This would save you on labor costs and all you would be out is the cost of the parts.
There should be three positions on your headlamp switch. One is off, the other is on, and the last is auto. If they still come on when the headlight switch is off, then you have day time running lights that cannot be bypassed.
I checked Auto Zone and they only show 1 idler pulley. It should be mounted on an arm with a spring inside it. Which would be an idler arm. If not, then it probably has an adjustment bolt underneath it. You have to loosen the bolt holding on the pulley to adjust it.
