I have an unlocked T-Mobile iPhone 3Gs old bootrom on ios 4.3.3 so I updated it to ios 5 and jailbroke it with Sn0wbreeze, but when I tried to unlock it with Ultrasn0w it just says no service. What do I do to get it unlocked again?

I have the HTC Thunderbolt. I can still trade it in for the Samsung Charge, but ppl say with the 'Gingerbread' update will fix some problems. (Battery, Internet Etc.) What is this Gingerbread update? And what's better? Thunderbolt or Charge? ....
