Not really. Structurally speaking, if you're going to build big and don't have steel, a pyramid is the most stable structure. The Mysteries of the Ages... really aren't.

I chose the religion I'm currently following because its moral code perfectly matched the ethics I had embraced as an atheist -- that is, as a human being. Choosing to honor the Gods of my faith didn't change who I am at heart. And everybody has morals, with the possible exception of sociopaths.

It's hard to argue in the Y!A format, but yes, people certainly do fling insults around like there's no tomorrow.

Social Engineering 101 would still apply. Religions codify the rules that naturally arise to keep social groups stable. In other words: morality evolved.

So couples who are infertile shouldn't be having sex either? Logical fail is made of fail. (Oh, and (a) human beings ARE animals, and (b) as a species of animal, we have our own species-specific behaviors, of which homosexuality in a certain percentage of the population is one.)
