www.edmunds.com will have info or link to a site that does, as far as resale value and ratings. If you are thinking of buying that or any vehicle, make sure to get a mechanic to do a complete inspection B4 purchase - that way there is less chance of getting ripped off
A crock pot/slow cooker is the way to go, if you have one or want to spend the $ 15 to get one - meat, veggies, potatoes all come out very moist and tender....the broiling idea may be OK if you keep a close watch so they do not burn
It would probably be as much to repair to buy a new TV; yours is considered a "dinosaur" at that age. If you do replace it, look online for a recycling place to take the old TV - better than it going into the landfill :]

Since it has a carburetor and not fuel injection, you need to pump the accelerator a few times to get the fuel from the tank to the carb. You may want to replace the fuel filter(s) as well; there should be one near the fuel inlet to the carb, and maybe one in the line going to the carb
