    Food for thought here: I made a completely enclosed bike on a regular road bike. It was light weight plastic with a tight plastic shell. The bike could get up to 35 mph with little ease, but the problems were ventilation ( very hot ), and hard to control. Hope that helps.

    what is the trend with fixed gear bikes?

    I truly don't get this either !!! Why would any one get on a bike, on the road, with traffic with out brakes ???? I believe this has got to be a fashion trend, can't see any other reason.
