There are 35mm format digital cameras that have greater than 22MPs. I think the exact science involved is cost versus what the market will bear. The technology is there it's just a matter of how much it's worth related to the format.

Maybe you should ask somewhere else. As a photographer a good starting rate would be $10 per hour for someone with no experience. A graphic designer might say $25 per hour. If you get an entry level job at $10 or $12 they will advance your salary depending on your ability or you find a new job...
