Every time I get the timing set on my 2000kawasaki prairie, engage tension er to torque it to specs the the sprocket turns even holding the crankshaft in place. How can I stop this from happening

Finally got timing right I think thanks to Bruce M. a motorcycle mechanic. I followed every step to make sure that it ran and it does run but still starts hard, and has very low power. It idles just fine. I was wondering if the Battery size makes a difference as far as power goes.
