Why is it okay to publicly support non committal relationships, violence, etc... Doing it in privacy is just as bad, but at least its not condoning negative activities... Either way, when did mainstream hip hop culture evolve to acting tactless?

Is there some history behind it? Also, I notice hip hop culture in general is very obvious about everything...the whole "keeping it real" concept might explain that...

I know it dates back historically...is there any other reason(s)? I just don't understand it.
