No, the phone would be activated for data only under his account. If you left his sim in there, then you have data. As soon as you put your sim back in there, you will not have data. The services follow the acct you have stored on the Sim card.- L L ツ

is tmobile really not selling the "behold t919" anymore?
they are still selling it while supplies are left. The main difference in the Behold 2 is that it runs Android OS instead of Windows and that it has Wifi. I believe that the Data plan will be required on the Behold2, but it is not required on Behold 1. It is also free with a 2 year contract. -
