I'm trying to slice up my weblayout but these auto slices (the ones made up of dotted lines) makes my job much more difficult when it comes to uploading, how do i turn off the auto slice?

Every time i would press a key on the virtual keyboard or my yamaha keyboard i wouldnt hear anything. iv'e tried everything x.x im new to this program. Is there something i have to do in order to hear MIDI sounds from my VSTi's
