    Do I need to buy a subwoofer to produce rich bass in my car audio system?

    I have an aftermarket head unit which I bought as well as a 4 channel 1000 watt amp. Now I figured that if I connect the amp to my 4 speakers and I swapped out the speakers for aftermarket ones, then there would be no need to add a subwoofer to my system. I don't want thumping bass.
