    HTML code about background color?

    I'm in an intro to computers class and we're learning HTML code. My teacher said that using <body bgcolor="(colorhere)"> (I think that that's the code, I'm not 100% sure though. It's the code that creates background color) is a code that should be avoided. Is there a reason why?
