I am going to say the ttr just because I have a yz 250 dirtbike and I like it! But honestly Honda is just as good if not better. It comes down to better price! I actually looked at a cr 250 before I bought my yz. (the guy selling the cr was asking to much)

Okay you are comparing a 250cc to a 1000 cc bike! That is like conpairing a ford focas to a Ferrari! The top speed of the r1 is 186 mph! The top speed of the ninja 250 is 95 mph! The r1 has almost a hundred mph on the 250!

Everyones scared of the clutch before you ride. Once you spend a weekend just practicing getting out of first and back to neutral the rest is easy. Trust me you can get a verrrrrrrrrry nice dirtbike for 3 grand! It really is easy just do it slow.
