    A bike is way safer to ride, When you fall it slides away from you, with a quad when you fall it will role over you most of the time, I would suggest a honda crf100.

    How can i make my pit bike faster?

    There are so many thing that can make a bike faster but nothing comes cheap, You get after market filters but that wont do anything on a pit bike. The best option would be to put an exhaust pipe on but id rather buy a faster bike. you will never get money back for parts you put on your bike.
