the mechanic said he thinks its the oil which i neglected to check, and it just wont start... should i get a new engine? and if so what years will fit? or do you think it may have been something else that i can just replace a part for, or maybe work on?? all helps appreciated, thanks!

also, if its too hard to do myself, how much do you think it would cost, not including the cost of the motor.... thanks!!
