There is not pencil key on the N82. Instead, you need to press and hold the # key, select the text using the D-Pad. You will have the options to Cut and Copy, which needs to be selected. To paste the copied text, press and hold the # key and then select paste. hope this helps.

Def worth buying the iphone and selling it for some quick cash. I would recommend you to wait for the new iphone 3G S and sell it for like $700+ to make some good money for the N97. Just buy the phone and sell it on eBay and tell AT&T you lost the phone.
