    Is it good or bad to not get pop culture references from the last 10 years?

    I gave up mainstream stuff about 10 years ago and when people pull references from pop culture I don't know what they mean most of the time. It feels weird that I know next to nothing about Kim Kardashian even though she shows up everywhere. At the same time I keep up with the news and stuff.
