IMO IR should be on at least the major phones such as N8, E7, and the upcoming N9. Nokia needs to avoid the "Flagship" mistakes of the N97 which should also include actually "supporting" the phone through updates. After V2.0, the N97 has basically been left for dead. Flagship devices...

I've had my share of Nokias, Sony Ericssons, Motorolas, Sanyos, Samsungs, and more...and will agree that the Nokias, and some of the latest Motos (V8/V9) are pretty stellar performers in the reception wars... But, I have truly been totally blown away by the reception from my BlackBerry...

I just bought my SLR two months ago, so the points you made are quite correct, regarding natural light VS Flash. Cellphone camera's are for the in-the-moment shots. SLR's/P&S are for taking pics when you intend to do so.
