It could be that it's a WMA file (Windows Media File) WMA files have been known to have a lower quality, for you will use little storage on your hard drive. Downloading a file conveter would possibly work.. I'd say transfer it from WMA to MP3 for better quality.

With technology and the right procedures, it could be done.
