As Edwin said... if it is for the Maxxum camera, yes it will mount. Easy enough to tell, just look at the mount end. If it has the 5 electrical contacts, then it is an A mount lens. If there are no contacts, it is an MD lens and cannot be used. Take the lens off your camera and look at the mount...

You could buy a used iPhone from a private seller instead of AT&T, and a voice-only plan, but then why have an iPhone in the first place? If you get it from AT&T, you are required to have the data plan.

It is much better at photography than, say, email. It's a camera. It happens to be (ok, was) one of the better beginner models out there. The camera is capable of taking "pro" level pictures, if you are. Non-photographers will probably take you seriously. Would pro shooters? Probably not.
