I purchased the following cable: http://www.amazon.com/Cable-Converter-Music-Keyboard-Window/dp/B0017H4EBG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1289167242&sr=8-1 and when i plug it in Garageband senses it, but no sound plays through my computer. Please help!

I have an iPod Touch. Additionally, would it be possible to connect my laptop to the my T.V. and get sound through the system? Thanks
