I would go with the 5800 because of 3G, do the system software updates which adds more speed for the phone, then download Opera Mobile 10 beta on it.

There is a bit of irony in the fact that most of the people in the US who seem to be purchasing the -1 and -3 versions are TMobile customers that Nokia seemed to shun without a version to support their 3G. Many of us ATT and Rogers customers are holding out for a -2.
