How about Eric Dickerson and Craig James for SMU? They were probably the best combo in NCAA history and they played in the same backfield. The Longhorns right now don't even compare to that tandem.

Danny White was quarterback and punter for the Cowboys. Tom Landry was defensive back and punter for the Longhorns. He was also a DB for the Giants and I believe he punted for them as well.
