it sounds like a lose connection.. it would cost more for labor to fix than to bear it being so high.. i wouldn't worry about it..

i own a intrepid and i do believe who ever told you it has sludge build-up didn't change their oil when suppose to.. take care of your car.. it will love you long time

unless your alternator is bad, i would not replace it.. if your having problems with power and your audio system is draining too much power then i would buy a car/audio capacitor kit.. $100 and keeps your battery from draining and your headlights from dimming during driving.. You can purchase...
