Need help...Communications Switch Kit

Im adding the CB and Intercom system to my 2010 Road Glide....everything is going well but i cant figure out how or where to route the wiring harness from the console pod assembly? It says to route it forward thru the fairing. I assumed it would run to the rear of the tank and thru the wiring harness tray but the harness is too short. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you using the Boom Audio Music and Intercom Kit, p/n 77108-09? I ask because there is no console pod assembly in that kit. Your thread title refers to a "communications switch kit" which is a different accessory from the BAMI kit p/n above.

If you are installing the rider headset connector using the tank console for the headset connector's location (ala an Ultra), route the harness under the fuel tank console.

I have no idea what kit or parts you are using due to your reference to the "console pod assembly" and "communications switch kit." I did the BAMI kit installation and there is plenty of length for the "rider headset connector/harness" to go from the non-Ultra overlay harness to the rear of the gas tank.

I'd like to help but don't know what parts you are using.

Assuming (dangerous) the console pod harness connector will mate with the rider headset connector on the non-Ultra overlay harness, just run the console pod harness forward under the gas tank console, not under the gas tank/along the frame. That's how my buddy's console pod harness mounted on his '06 EG Classic when he added CB.

What instructions are telling you to route the console pod harness along the frame and under the gas tank?

Are you adding rear speaker pods with passenger controls and headset connector ala the Ultra?

Yes, i am adding rear speakers....intercom....cb.....to the bike. It will be an ultra set up when everything is done. So far everything has been very simple until i got to this. And yes the harness for the riders headset plugs in just fine to the overlay harness. Everything is labeled clearly.

I think i see what you are saying now. There is a small gap between the tank and the console that I assume you could run the wire thru into the fairing. It just didnt occur to me thats where the wiring harness would go.

Is my thinking correct?

I added the same thing when I added the Boom Head set. I didn't want the tape stuck to my tank. i bought an Ultra rider dash off eBay. I routed the wiring down the front of the dash out and through the front into the fairing. I had just enough to plug into the Interconnect harness.

I have snapped a few photos along the way.....Now if i can just figure out how to post them!

To my surprise the rear speakers, CB, seem to be working fine. Havent checked the intercom because i only have one headset. Plan on picking up the other one today. Only thing i dont see is the fade control? Should that be working or will i have to have it flashed at the dealer?
