But that's what makes it such a great satire - it was so over the top sometimes by design. I think that's why it's easy for me to laugh at. I mean, yeah, some people ARE like that but mostly it is such a ridiculous take on it that it's hilarious. To me :)

Ditto on the roller skate - CLASSIC

I go to a Christian school and I know people like that but not in anyway as extreme as Hillary Faye. Some of it was actually funny though.

Oh I want so badly to see this movie again. I'm trying to convince my dad to take my sister, cousin, and I tomorrow.

I snagged that wallpaper; it's very cute. I love Patrick Fugit.

The movie definitly wasn't what I expected it to be when I went to see it but I was impressed and not disappointed at all. I loved the characters; they were so realistic. I knew a few Hilarys in my day and I really relate to Cassandra as well as Mary. And don't we all wish for a Patrick in our lives?

Mandy Moore was great in this. Kinda weird to see her like that after seeing A Walk to Remember

Hearing these great reviews just makes me more anxious for a wider release! I'm very glad that everyone seems to have liked it so far.

I love this movie so much. It came out in like 2005 so I always have 2005 memories when I watch it. Plus after watching I'm a huge Jena Malone fan :D

cheerios, I completely agree about the "I'm the father/I'm the boyfriend/I'm his boyfriend" scene. And the parametric was just like, "That's nice, but I can still only take one of you," in an indifferent sort of way. Probably my favorite scene, comedy-wise.

I also wish we had scene what happened to Hilary Faye. At the end of the movie, everybody was surrounding Mary in the hospital bed except for Hilary Faye and I sort of felt like I was left hanging when she didn't get anymore screen time after the Jesus van crash scene.

ETA: I made a Patrick/Mary wallpaper...it's kind of lackluster, but oh well.

Good Intentions

I used "In This Life" lyrics because I thought that scene in the movie where they used the song was very well-done. I loved it.

First off have to say saw this movie, loved it.

I was wondering though if anyone knows where I can find some avi's from this movie? It would be really appreciated. :)

I absolutly adore this movie, even though all the Christ loving was a little much. I'm a Christian myself, but some of the characters in this movie were too Jesus centered. It was really funny thought out the movie; I love the scene where Mary in labor and she going to the hostipal.

Parametic: Only one of you can go with her.
Dean: I'm the father!
Patrick: I'm the boyfriend!
Mitch: [points to Dean] I'm his boyfriend!
And then Mary's mom gets in, this has to be my favortie scene. It is funny and charming at the same time.

I also like how we never knew what happen to Hilary Faye after she smash her van. Or if Pastor Skip ever come into the hostipal to congrat Mary on the baby. It kinda make it less of a Hollywood ending where every loose end is tied up and some things are just left in the air. I like that, something different.

The teen couples were great:

Mary and Patrick were sweet and good for each other. He got her to accept that she was still a wonderful person and she got him to smile that beatiful smile of his. I'm a very big fan of Patrick Fugit, not only is he a great actor, he is also very good looking.

Cassandra and Roland were the more trickters of the teen couples. They were always behind playing a trick on Hilary Faye or breaking some rule. They brought humor to a situation and just clicked as a couple. I liked how they like each other for who they were and not what they could give each other.

Dean and Mitch were only in a few shots, but were still adorable. They seem so happy together. And happier as their own person, now that they had accepted they were gay. They knew God still loves them and didn't hold their sexual choice against them. But it was kinda of funny that no one seem to notice Dean was gay, I mean sequins on his outfit for figure skating was a real give away. Not that I'm saying all male figure skaters are gay, he just had the vibe of being gay.

Pastor Skip got on my nerves alot more than Hilary Faye. He was a control freak, who dissmissed anything that didn't fall under his liking. The more he lost control the more horrible he got, the man was nuts. Maybe he got to me more because I know someone just like him in my life. And he like the character of Pastor Skip can only be taken in small ounces.

Hilary Faye was putting too many pressures on herself and needed to accept that God forgives vices. There are two scenes where she is praying, that show she doesn't really know the true meaning of Jesus and his word. Her outburst at the end shows that she just as miserable with her choices in life and relization that something in this world are out of her reach. She was just a lost girl who liked a boy-whom happen to like another girl. And no matter what she did, she couldn't change that.

Tia really got on my nerves like Pastor Skip, she just wanted to be part of the popular people, so much that she got scary. I mean they have a great scene that redeems her from scary-land and then she just goes crazy/scary again at the end.

I completely recomend it to anyone who want to see a well made movie; with good acting, good plot, digalouge, and visually enjoyable to watch. I saw it without my best friend and I'm deffinally going to take her to see it--partially for her/partially because I just want to see it again.

I love this movie!

Cassandra: There's only one reason Christian girls comes down to the Planned Parenthood.
Roland: She's planting a pipe bomb?
Cassandra: Okay, two reasons

I love this movie.

I think that everyone should see this movie whether they are religious or not. I think all would enjoy it.

If you aren't offended by any anti-Christian jokes, go see it. It's really good.

I think some theaters might be banning it for that reason. Which is silly in my opinion and I'm a Christian. The movie is about life and how people screw up sometimes even with the best intentions. But the theater I normally go to wasn't showing it so we went to the expensive one that is like 30-45 minutes away.

I am a big fan of Patrick Fugit, so when I heard he was in this movie I wanted to see it. That and the fact that I love sharp independent films that differ from formula films of the norm.

I have looked to see if it is playing anywhere near my home. Sadly it is not playing in the city I live near by either.

Stupid Suburbania!

Oh well I will just have to wait until it comes out on DVD to see Saved!

Okay, so since the first time I heard about Saved I have been so excited to go and see it. Unfortunatly there aren't any theatre's in my town showing the movie and the closest place that is is like an hour away. So, this goes out to all of you who are lucky enough to have seen it (do I sound jealous or what?): Should I just wait until it comes out on DVD or do should my friends and I take a little road trip to go see it?

This movie was great. I liked everyone's performances, and it was so funny! "I am filled with Christ's love!" ;D Two thumbs up.
