I also really would like to have Speed HD on Bell

Most of Speed's new programming is all done for HD and it has been on the competition way too long now for it not to be included on Bell.

I would like to have HD for te upcoming Rolex 24, I pretty certain that my own viewing frequency would increase if they had an HD broadcast, and I'm sure others would also.

still claiming this;

but cant deliver this channel

Would doubt that a few hundred emails to Bell TV will have much of an impact. It appears they add channels according to their "master plan" and not in response to consumer demand. Eventually it will be added but at the moment Speed in SD is what we have.

I think they're using the reverse way of thinking.. Any channel ppl start requesting they replace it with something like Fishing TV HD. So maybe if we all request Fishing TV HD we may get Speed HD instead?

Hi. I know this is an old thread. I was wondering if there is any new info on speed hd on bell tv?
Thanks.

Speed HD and Nascar Hot Pass and two completely different things.

If it was truely about demand I don't know how Hot Pass ever made it on.

I am a hard core Nascar fan but have never considered subscribing to Hot Pass. The service doesn't make any sense to me. Everything I need in on the main broadcast.

I have requested Speed HD everytime that I have talked to Bell in the last three years since I got my HD set-up.

Markb, from a personal taste point of view, each person who subscribes can argue for or against any of a number of channels that are being carried right now. I have no use for a number of channels that are in either SD or HD but they are still carried.

I definitely have no idea of the carrying costs for either the SD or HD version of Speed but if you are going to carry either, it should be the HD version.

I really think it it time to trim the roster of some of the duplicate SD versions of channels.

The front page of this forum hasn't told us of many of these provider companies having poor balance sheets over the last few years, but it is seemingly the PPV's and exploitation of the addon channels movies and adult channels that appear to be providing the gravy.

All said, I believe there is some form of internal corporate bullying that is keeping SPEED HD of the air on Bell TV and as most of these stories go the consumer loses.

Note: not a rant just wishing I had Speed HD to complement the scores of useless channels (my opinion only) that I also have to pay for.

I just got off the phone with Bell - the guy I was talking to said they have no record of SpeedHD in their system.

Frame shows a lot of still pictures in half-hour "shows" - all very nice HD pics, but very repetitive. For example, it has a "covered bridges" show, a "castles" show, etc...

Once you've seen half an hour of covered bridges, you really don't need to see it the next day, and the day after that, and the day after that...

I am a huge F1 Racing fan and would also like to see the races on Speed HD just not TSN HD. There is plenty to watch on Speed HD and i cant understand why Bell would not have it. If they want to keep their costumers happy they would have what the competitors have as well as other stations to make them the best.

Bell thinks just because they have the MOST HD that its the best. So that means if they have 1 million channels of complete utter garbage that makes them better then a provider that has a good solid 50 HD stations that people want to watch. Hmmmmm i think not! Bell better get their act together by the end of the summer or I'm GONE!

When will we get speed HD? Really tired of watching Bell commercials about "the most HD" on Speed Vision in SD. Based on my experience at cruise nights and car shows there has got to be a lot of others that would like to watch Speed in HD. Come on Bell it's not just the number of HD channels that counts - but the variety. I hope others that want to see Speed in HD will keep this thread alive - maybe we should start a letter writing campaign?

Put me down as another person waiting for Speed HD.

As for overlap between Speed and TSN the only thing I'm aware of is F1 races. Regardless, there really is no excuse for this delay in delivering Speed HD, as well as History HD.

Of course, they'll probably add it to the More HD Sports theme pack which, in my case, would mean paying extra to get it since I'm not subscribed to that package right now.

Speedtv guys are there on some of the races. They used to have Peter Windsor right in the pit lane but he got pulled out for USF1 that didn't materialize. There is a new guy that does interviews for them until Peter comes back. Guys in the studio are supplied with 3 to 4 different feeds (one primary and couple of supporting feeds, that's how they can command on the stuff that's not seen on the regular broadcast feed) and and only one has license to be aired. The primary feed that gets to BBC as well Speed is in HD and from there forward is up to the network how they going to broadcast. TSN and Speed HD rebroadcast on Rogers is in HD.

Channel 871..

But once again, the channel is in test mode. ;o)))
Only people with the right equipement can view it for now...

But anyway...This is good news for us that BEV is going to offer it soon as part of its programmation...

Check out the A LA Carte thread for a look at the problems I had getting SD Speed in a A LA CARTE package. Looks like they are trying to eliminate it completely in Quebec. The only way you can get Speed in the new Quebec packages is by opting for their most expensive package!
