ZLauncher as the default applications launcher on TX

When I have ZLauncher set as the default launcher on the TX, it still does not launch when I tap the "home" icon / button on the TX. Is there a trick?

You'll have to use a different icon/button. If you use the home icon/button, it only gives you two choices in the prefs.. "apps" and "favorites", I think.. so you can't really choose from a list of apps like you can with the other buttons. I chose to program the right-side button (looks like a globe) in the prefs, and I've quickly mastered the use of it.

I love ZL, by the way. I've used it since 2003, and have moved it over from my original Sony Clie T615, to a Tapwave Zod, to my current TX. The TX was the most difficult, simply because of the home icon/button issue.. so I had to think 'outside the box' a bit.

I use ButtonsEx. It allows you to set any button with the application of your choice. http://www.payalba.com I cant find any reg.code in my Palm for that program, so I assume it is freeware (but dont call me a liar, if not). It works just as you asked, plus some extra features and has never caused me a problem. Please note that when loaded, it appears in the Preferences Screen, ironically right under the Palm Button Changer, in the "Other: category. Hope that helps. By the way, it also allows you to change the buttons and the 5-way as well. Ignore the French at first on the page, and go down to ButtonsEx which is in English (unless you read/speak French).

By the way, I still use TealScript; so I am not totally lost to the world, yet.
 
O.K.

I have a TX
Set ZLauncher to launch when "home" icon is tapped.
Everything works fine.
BUT ............................... after a hot sync (and only after a hot sync), when I tap the "home" icon, I now get a reset. It happens after every hot sync.

Any thoughts?

If you are using ButtonsEx, I don?t have a clue. I have used it for probably two years with never so much as a blink, and on three different Palms and operating systems. However, I use LauncherX rather than ZLauncher. That is the only difference I can think of that might cause it. You might try reinstalling either of the programs (one at a time) and reinstalling. Outside chance one of them might have gotten corrupted. Sorry, I cant be of much more help on this one.
 
I have a T5 and use Zlauncher as my default launcher. I use a great little application called AardQuick which allows multiple applications to be launched from each button and have the home button set to Zlauncher. Works a treat. AardQuick can be found at Palmgear (and maybe other sites) AardQuick
