Hi:
I've been taking Zantac 150 mg. twice a day, morning and night and found it's been 'life-saver' to work VERY well for me.:)

However, only 150 mg. twice a day does help my acid-reflux issue, that is not everyday's but some days after having eaten 'oily-cooked' fishes, such as 'Mrs. Paul's Fishes.:(

What dosage is recommendable 'acid-reflux' issue like mine?

Thanks for your help in advance.

The maximum dose permitted for OTD drug labeling is 150mg twice a day, however, doctors sometimes use 300mg twice a day in stuborn cases.

You can also take a dose of antacid "as needed" while you are taking Zantac - after a particular meal, you might need to take a dose of Tums or Mylanta

I take OTC Zantac twice a day like you do and find that it works pretty well most of the time, but I still experience break through heartburn. For that, I take antiaciRAB as suggested by the other meraber, or there is also another over the counter remedy called Prelief that you can purchase OTC at the drug store and supposedly neutralizes or takes away "acid causing factors" from the fooRAB you are about to eat rather than affect your stomach's acid production.

I know doctors prescribe greater than 150 mg Zantac, but all these medications have potential side effects. Therefore, I am weary of taking very high doses and would rather avoid the fried fish or highly processed fooRAB if that is something that consistently provokes acid reflux for you.

I love coffee but have finally resigned myself to give it up completely.
