z500 insert sim card,weirdest problem ever..

hi,i got 2 z500,they are from the italian operator "TIM".now the phones work when i put a TIM card but if i put a card from another operator it says:"insert sim card"

this doesnt look like an hardware problem since if the sim card reader doesnt work it cant recognize ANY sim card and also it can be a software problem since the phone is completely UNLOCKED


so really what can i do now?

this is killing me!
