I'm currently building a fun/tournament worthy toon deck to play with. In the reprints in Dark Beginnings 1 & 2, toons that require toon world to be on the field are classified as special summons. However, many of the toon cards I have are from the Magic Ruler series and do not have the special summon condition printed on them. Are there any official rulings from the tournament style play to using old cards but use the new and updated effects, or do I have to have the updated versions of the new card itself? I wanted to use tokens from Scapegoat, Rockstone Warrior, etc. to tribute for higher levels since technically it is a special summon and not a tribute summon, but I don't know if other players would believe me as if I am making it up, since there are hardly any who run competitve Toon Decks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
