Can anyone help with this project?
***SCENARIO*** You are sailing across Cook Strait at night in your yacht. You go down into the cabin to find it rapidly filling with water! You only have time to grab your emergency rescue beacon before your yacht sinks. You throw it into the sea and hope the water triggers the light to shine and draw another boat to your rescue.
*** TASK*** To design and build a ‘rescue beacon’ in a secure container,
***EQUIPMENT ALLOWED***
• 1 PET bottle (1.5 litre or 1 litre)
• 3 A4 sheets tin foil
• 5 A3 sheets medium weight card (colour optional)
• 4 AA batteries
• 1 10 mm 3v LED (colour optional)
• 1 clothes peg (spring type)
• 1 strip of blue tac
• Up to 1 kg weight (can use sand, small stones, metal weights)
• 2 m string
• 5 empty film cases (with lids)
• 1 roll sellotape (12 mm x 10 mm)
• 2 A4 sheets white paper
• 2 Alka Seltzer tablets
• scissors (for construction only)

• Light should trigger after beacon is placed in water.
