He summons BP to the White House and is only there for the first 20 minutes of a four hour meeting.

He did what made sense. He sat with the chairman and came to a conclusiion on what they mutually decided was best for both parties. A lot of time should never be required on that aspect of the issue.

There would have been no point in sitting discussing the technical details, because he likely knows nothing about it, and his time is better spent doing other things.

The only problem I have is he should have done this weeks ago. I still find that shocking.

Why is anyone shocked about Obama only being there for a little bit, or Obama waiting so long to even gather these people for this discussion? This is exactly the "crisis" Biden let slip. This is Obama's crisis. It is a manufactured crisis, and it will push forth an agenda the way that 9/11 pushed forth the Patriot Act and other anti-terr'rist nonsense. Americans were trained to hate and fear the evil Muslims, and now they'll be trained to hate and fear the evil oil.

I highly doubt they did anything important in the first 20 minutes of the meeting. He probably showed up to give a little finger wagging speech and then let others discuss the details of what he wanted from BP. It's really frustrating to see a president that really doesn't seem interested in this whole situation.

Maybe Obama ran out of beer at the meeting and had to excuse himself and go get some?
